Switzerland offers lichens a wide variety of habitats and substrates in a relatively small area. Differences in geology, climate and management make the landscape heterogeneous and thus the lichen flora diversified. To date, 1777 lichen species are recorded in the Swiss lichen catalogue, but more are discovered every year.
Swiss Association of Bryology and Lichenology - Bryolich ¶
Bryolich was founded in 1956 and is the editor of the biannual journal Meylania. Every year, excursions, evenings for lichen determination and workshops are organised for members of the association.
