Welcome to SwissLichens ¶
SwissLichens, the National Data and Information Centre of Swiss lichens, aims to research and document the distribution, endangerment and ecology of lichens in Switzerland. The Data and Information Centre maintains a database with finding reports on the Swiss lichen flora, provides the basis for the promotion and protection of endangered lichens in Switzerland and advises authorities and NGOs on questions concerning the implementation of lichen promotion.
SwissLichens is recognised by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) as a national data and information centre and is a member of the network of InfoSpecies, the Swiss Information Centre for Species. In its operations SwissLichens is financially supported by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) and the Swiss Federal Research Institute WSL.
